Drawing Classes

I have been running private Drawing Classes for children and adults for twenty years. The classes are theme based, either on a particular artist, art movement or technique, using whatever media the subject suggests. Projects are considerably varied and inspiring, ranging from carefully observed drawings to free sketch work and sometimes glasswork. During the two hour class the students have the flexibility to follow the set lesson or to add to school work set by their teachers. This may involve either GCSE, ’AS’ or ‘A’ level work. Class numbers are small, six or seven students.
I also offer portfolio surgeries for Secondary School Transfer, Scholarships and Foundation Course entry.
In 2007 I set up the facility of taking Art GCSE, primarily for Home Educated children but now this extends to schooled children and adults wanting to take the exam outside school.

The Sydenham Arts Festival will be in its third year this year and I am one of the team who organize the Visual Arts Trail. A piece of work from each student is shown in an Open House as part of the Visual Arts Trail for those who want to be involved. This is a great opportunity for the children to show their work, maybe for the first time in a professional manner.
